The photonic glasses and thin films formed by amorphous binary and ternary chalcogenides of Ge, As, Sb, Ga and others, pure and doped, will be prepared and studied. Accent will be given to the study of preparation of thin films by pulsed laser deposition and to study of their optical properties. Large attention will be paid to the of photoinduced changes of structure and optical properties, mainly to changes of optical absorption index of refraction, thermal properties etc.The project aims in increasingk nowledge and better understanding of photonic materials and in their potential application in optics and optoelectronics, and consequently in other branches of science and industry.
